Figuring out fun ideas for a first date doesn’t have to be hard but it does take a little bit of planning on your part. Luckily, here are some great ideas that will have your first date be truly magical. Have fun meeting someone new and spending time with them!
When it comes to our relationships, love, and keeping it fresh, we have to know when to be spontaneous. Now, a lot of women don’t know how to be spontaneous because life is moving at the speed of light. We tend to forget things that are supposed to be fun.
We go out to dinner whenever we want to go out on a “date” or we go to the bar. We forget that there are other things to do around the world than just going to a restaurant (even though food is deliciously amazing).
Here are some date ideas for your day excursions you may overlook or just need simply need a reminder to look around for these places.
Unique & Fun Ideas for a First Date
1. Aquarium or Zoo
The first thing that pops up in my mind is to go visit an aquarium! It’s definitely a “fun” thing to do and there’s nothing more romantic than that. I mean, come on, haven’t you seen “50 First Dates“?
All joking aside, animals are interesting creatures and seeing sea creatures is something to do out of our ordinary realm we call life. If all else fails, it’s great people-watching. But walking around an aquarium with your partner will definitely pass a couple of hours.
Bring out your inner child and enjoy yourself. If she doesn’t like sea life… then take her to a zoo! No matter what her preference is, animals are always a good go-to when trying to figure out what to do to pass a few hours.
2. Parks
If you aren’t wanting to spend any money on your date, then go to a park! Parks are different depending upon your geographical location. You might be enjoying an 8-mile hike down to the waterfall, or just have a grassy area with a few picnic tables.
What you have to do is to entertain yourself while you’re there:
- Bring a frisbee or a ball and play catch!
- Take a stroll around the park.
- Watch the other people hanging out in the park.
It doesn’t have to be a big extravagant event: all that matters is being with your partner.

3. Amusement Park
If you live near an amusement park, why not head down there to have a day of fun and excitement? Rides are thrilling and will boost your adrenaline. On top of that, park food is definitely better while you’re at the park instead of at home.
If you’re afraid of heights, maybe this isn’t the best decision – you could always hang out in the kid area of the park with the “kiddie” rides.
4. Mall
The last idea on my list is to go hang out at the mall. Enjoy putting on designer clothes or clothes you normally wouldn’t wear. If your partner likes to dress up or likes style in general, he’s not going to mind hanging out at the mall.
Creating different outfits and trying them on is just simply fun to do as a date. You get to pretend to be someone you aren’t for the day or with every outfit that has a new personality. Have fun with it: it’s a date!
No matter what you’re planning on doing for your date, make sure to just have fun. Being spontaneous is the key to any relationship… you don’t have to plan every single thing you do every day.
